Kaning Puti..... Boiled Rice
Tradition demands a thick steel pan for cooking rice. However, for convenience,
an electric rice cooker is now a common substitute. Rice cookers imported from
Japan are available in most department stores and Oriental food stores.
2 cups raw white rice
4 cups water
dash of salt
In a heavy saucepan, wash rice two or three times and drain Add water and salt
Bring to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
When using a rice cooker follow manufacturer's directions for timing.
Serves 4.
