Suam Na Baboy...Boiled Pork with Noodles and Cabbage

3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 tablespoons cooking oil
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 small piece of fresh ginger,
sliced
1/4 cup patis or 2 tablespoons salt
2 pounds pork loin, cut into
cubes
1 tablespoon pepper corns
6 cups water
1 pound cabbage, cut into
2-by-3-inch slices
2 bundles vermicelli or misua
(sold in Oriental food stores)
1 bunch green onions, diced

Brown garlic in oil and then saute onion and ginger and season with patis or salt.
Add pork, turning several times to brown. Add pepper corns and water and cook
until pork is tender. Add cabbage and cook for another 5 minutes. Add vermicelli
or misua and green onions and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes. Serve hot.

Serves 8- 10.
